About Georgetown

Photo of Masonic Lodge Georgetown, Texas is home to over 60,000 people and the fastest growing city within Williamson County -- the second fastest growing non-urban county in the United States. Over the next few years, Georgetown expects to grow even more with new developments, with several senior adult communities.

Located on the banks of the San Gabriel River in Central Texas, Georgetown provides a unique lifestyle consisting of opportunities for active participation in all areas of community life. We take great pride in the restoration and preservation of Historic Georgetown. We maintain close ties with Texas' oldest and one of its most distinguished universities, Southwestern University.

The Georgetown Independent School District (GISD) provides excellence in education and is proud of the participation of its students in music, sports, and literary events throughout the state.

In addition to 14  parks maintained by the City of Georgetown, Lake Georgetown -- with camping, picnic, swimming, fishing, and boating areas are maintained by the Corps of Engineers. There is an abundance of outdoor recreation in the community. Georgetown also has a 12  mile hike and bike trail which begins at  Lake Georgetown, through  Blue Hole Park and travels along the river bank, ending in beautiful San Gabriel Park.

Local businesses offer personal and courteous service and are looking forward to serving you.
